BMW finally adds Android Auto

BMW must be angling to be on Santa’s good list. A week after announcing it would no longer charge extra for Apple CarPlay, BMW announced Wednesday that it would finally introduce Android Auto compatibility in its vehicles by July, 2020. BMW’s belated move represented one of the last major automakers to offer Android Auto compatibility. Lexus began offering Android Auto in select models earlier this year. While BMW may be late to market, it leads the industry in offering wireless smartphone connectivity, so the phones don’t need to be physically tethered and drivers don’t have to be reminded to bring along a cord. Corsica man accused of abandoning two dogs at Jefferson Co. home

Jefferson Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Punxsutawney say a Corsica man is facing charges after being accused of abandoning two dogs at a home in Union Township. Troopers say in August, investigators received multiple complaints about the two animals being left outside at a home along Howe Road. 4 PA PetSmart employees charged after toy poodle dies during grooming visit

PITTSBURGH (WPXI) — Four former PetSmart employees in Pittsburgh have been charged in the death of a toy poodle. A.J. Ross brought her toy poodle Kobe to this PetSmart store to be groomed last November. When she came to pick up the dog, he was dead. Ross then rushed Kobe to a nearby animal hospital, but after 15 minutes of CPR, hospital staff pronounced the dog dead. Death sentence given to man convicted of killing New Kensington officer

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (WJAC) — A man convicted in the shooting death of a Westmoreland County police officer was sentenced to death. According to NBC affiliate WPXI, the sentence for 31-year-old Rahmael Holt was handed down Wednesday morning. According to prosecutors, Holt was pulled over for a traffic stop by New Kensington officer Brain Shaw in late 2017. Man arrested in Delaware robbery suspected in slaying

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a man arrested in a violent robbery in Delaware earlier this week will face charges in the slaying of a donut ship manager during a robbery in north Philadelphia over the weekend. Chief Inspector Frank Vanore said 39-year-old Keith Gibson is believed responsible for the slaying early Saturday of 40-year-old Christine Lugo.
